Identification Service
An identification service for coins and archaeological objects will be running in the Ashmolean Museum from January 2010. The service will run on the first Wednesday of each month from 12 – 4pm, starting on Wednesday 6th January. It will be located in ‘Exploring the Past’ on the Lower Ground Floor (Gallery 1 on the map).
We will aim to identify all archaeological objects and coins brought to the service, but we regret that we cannot take items in, or provide either valuation or authentication of objects.

Student's Room
The reserve collections of the Department of Antiquities will be moving back to the museum in 2010. We aim to reopen access to the reserve collections and archives as soon as possible once the collections are returned. An announcement will be made about the opening date for the new Student’s Room and how to book an appointment when we have further information.
